Its pic's been posted here previously from last years Tokyo show but now the CB1100R is one step closer to production.

The front fairing may a bit Cybermanish but must say I love this mad retro machine thats just like one ogled at the Honda dealers showroom when I were a young teen. V

I saw this in an issue of "Bike" awhile back and I fell in love with the looks of it. I would have loved to have seen it in person.

The thing I hate is so many many times the manufacturer dumbs down, or f*cks up completely the look from prototype to production and you are left with a ugly bike that is nothing like you remembered. Honda/Suzuki seem to be good in f*cking stuff like this up as well.

Back to the future! I'm starting to see where the development money for the new V5 1000 Interceptor went:whistle:. Good looking bike though, there are a couple of guys who were mentioned in the "Who's You Favorite Racer" thread that just might get a little tear in their eye lookin' at that!

I do have to agree with you on the cyber-manish look up front. They might be able to do something with that mouthish grill-gap. Not sure if that is the oil cooler or what.

Unfortunately, it will most likely be only Japan/Euro only, based on past marketing decisions.

Anyone see a robot looking creature there. Up date the headlights and they'd have a winner for sure.

Skip the faring and put a big round light up front with a RWB nacle and I think it would be culo de gato.

:frown: The Europeans get all the cool stuff! I guess it's the ignorant Americans who buy nothing but cruisers and sportbikes that wreck it for us.

No, it's American Honda's flat refusal to take risks with new designs, and to do anything remotely resembling real marketing that wreck it for us.

Doesn't work for me at all. I don't like the look of the engine, exhaust system, and tube frame. Just when we were starting to get properly designed rear suspension/linkage designs like Unit ProLink, now a march back to shocks mounted in a cantilever fashion to the swingarm jacking suspension movement into the subframe?

I think it looks awesome. Paint it flat black and the Bubba Zanetti gang will rule the roads!

That's because it looks like something The Goose would ride searching for the Toe Cutter, Bubba!

The Parisienne fairing was standard Main Force Patrol issue...

I don't think you "get" this bike at all Puma. The rear suspension and engine and styling are adorably retro, and that's the point. Air cooled sportbikes are also inordinate amounts of fun, my Seca II taught me that. As for tube frames, I think Ducati would have something to say about those and how well they work.

    Personally... :hungry: DO WANT.

ETA: derstuka: If they get rid of the mouth, how will we know where to aim our glitterguns? :laser:

I get it, I just don't like it. It's a styling mish-mash, IMHO. The design cues don't work together in an integrated whole. I like the Paul Smart Ducati better.
