body parts for '86 VF 700F2

I have recently bought a used 1986 vf 700 F2, i was wondering if there was a website that sells replacement body parts for this, thanks

Ebay is a good place to start for some stuff.

It helps if you post what you need. Some of us have parts.

 

I am looking for the tail-light housing. It is broke between the brake-light and the reflector. I have seen some for VF700's, I have not found any for a 86 VFR700F, I appreciate any help. thanks

 

the tail light itself? the red part? be more specific

 

I dont need the tail light, I need the plastic piece that holds the light assembly, comes up around the bike to the side cover on both sides, its made of plastic.

you need the tail fairing then.

If danimal doesn't have one, I have one thats in OK shape, with emphasis on OK. Its dirty and has some scratches. There are the normal 2 broken mounting tabs, but its in decent shape. There aren't many options, other than going to VFR chuck on Ebay for a one piece rear fairing that includes the 2 side pieces... for about $235

I have one also that is on OK shape, similar to frodus, it is of course 20 years old and used but it works and I have no use for it.

 

I really apreciate that, I went ahead and send the tail section to my paint/body guy to see if he could fix it. I will be in touch if that does not work out.

 

drewr, I bought a 86 700r2 and need to replace the mirrors, any idea where I can find replacement mirrors?

the only person who still makes bodywork for the 86-87 vfr's is chuck crites. He sells the bodywork under the business name of Cobalt Racing, which is out of Ohio.

As for the mirrors, I have a set of bike master mirrors on mine that are FAR better than stock, though i cant remember the part #s off the top of my head.

 

Have the same problem... always looking for that Canadian guy that was making cool fiberglass body for our bikes, incloding gastank and one pice tail with solo seat. I think I saw his ad on ebay but I dont remember.
If anyone finds him please let me know.

Tail Fairing?

Hey guys, my tail fairing is in two pieces, soon to be three, if any of you guys still have one in decent (one piece) shape im looking, scratches dont matter, ill be painting sometime in the near future.

to my knowledge, most any bike shop can order these mirrors. I have found that they are the "super sport"

these mirrors yield a FAR better field of vision than the stock mirrors.
