Caught up this weekend with the fellow OzVFR lister who bought my previous '03 Blue VFR in early '06 and after close inspection found he has pretty enhanced in most areas a VFR should be.

Starting with a visual lift of blue 2 pack rims, Pazzo levers and impressive handling enhancments with a Wilbers rear shock and fully reworked late model R1 front forks with Radial brakes, following it through the local bumpy twisties was amazed how totally planted it looked even through the badly surfaced ripply section.

The Gen 6's engine performance also came in for attention with a 4 can Laser exhaust matched with Catless Motard Headers and Power commander with a fair bit of Dyno time tuning for performance. Faster ?... yes indeedy, not only is it faster accelerating than my Gen 5 but a long time usually faster ex VFRer now on a Super Blackbird remarked he cannot catch the Gen 6 until speeds get upwards of 150mph's+ (on a track of course)

    Were they worthwhile mods ?

H'mmm lets see it looks good, handles and stops brilliantly and runs harder than a Blackbird until silly speeds if you have the money and love the VFR then I'd say a most resounding YES, well why not take the best bike in the world and by upgrading release all its potential....

It's always neat to not only see, but to ride with somebody who bought your old bike. I'm in the same boat. My friend bought my 5th Gen and we get the chance to ride together. I love knowing where my old bike is and yes, we do compare the differences between the bikes. He is looking to move to a 919 and has promised that he will sell it back to me when he does. At that point I'll have 4 Interceptors! My wife is VERY understanding.

Thought someone might call me out on it unfortunately only took a couple of snaps  , heres the best showing the R1 Front end and you can just see the Motard Headers peeking through. FYI zROYz owns it on VFD so you may have seen other pic's of it there although it had an SP Forks previously which are now doing good service on the SuperBluebird also pictured below. Incestuous this VFR world is isn't it ?

    Yes, ZroyZ! Of course.

I had forgotten that he removed the RC51 forks and fitted some R-1 kit.

Those radial Yam calipers must be like hitting a brick wall!
