I just picked up my "new" '87 VFR700F2 a couple weeks ago. I got it for cheap, and I'm working on making it road-worthy again!

So far, I've rebuilt the forks seals (I'm thinking some stiffer springs might be in order...or maybe just newer springs:biggrin:), and started looking at the other parts I need (grips, levers, left foot peg...or rear sets:cool:)

looks to be a fun bike, and the few quick test rides I've had with it have proved that to me.

I'm looking forward to getting this thing running good over the winter, and ready to go for this coming spring!

I'll get some pics up when I get either a working camera, or break down and buy one of those disposable ones, I promise, my other forum has been asking too ;)

as for parts that I need:
    left foot peg and bracket
    choke cable
clutch and brake levers (I'm working with a shop to get these though so I can have new ones)
    grips

...that's all I can think of right now...

it's pretty ugly...it's a beat up old bike (hence the price)...it has the rattle can special paint job (and the exhaust cans rattle pretty good too! ;))

    the tail section is gone.

i have both right foot pegs ride and pillion.
I have mirrors they are in decent condition if you pay the shipping you can have them they work they are faded and have some cracking.
    I have three windscreens
    a. original it is hazy
    b. a blue rifle windscreen (very tall)
    c. a dark smoke Maier which I like
I have all those fairings they will need to be painted though
gas tank has a dent on the front it has been cleaned and coated with POR-15
and I used it for three years after that it is fine. I would replace the o-rings on the fuel cut off.
I'll send you all of this stuff and a box of screws and brake parts for $400 and I'll pay the shipping. or let me know what of it you want

do you have the left foot peg and bracket? mine has been broked and replaced by this:

and the silver colored bracket here: (I broke it)

and if you do have either of those....
do you have the clutch lever pushrod (to actuate the clutch) and the bushing that goes with it? would attach here:

I'll let you know as soon as I get my christmas bonus! (should be first part of Dec).

If you still have all those parts, I'll take them off your hands for that price.

Hey guys, I just bought a 86 700 F2, am making it road worthy again too. Just bought it late Dec. needs some pieces, odds and ends, anyone have a L side cover/plastic that goes just beneath the seat? the bike caught fire when the rectifier took a shit and melted that side piece of plastic. luckily it only damaged the seat a little bit, can be reupholstered. last guy who bought it had to deal with the electrical problem, he has a baby on the way and wont have time to finish the bike I bought it for 1300 and it runs and looks great. 18K mi. Need lots of fairing bolts, one front disc bolt could use a good used windscreen, horn. So far I have cleaned the bike, using no water at all, from head to toe, sprayed the motor and carbs with some WD40, (the motor was looking too dry). and made sure everything electrical works, all does x cept the horn and headlight. No B Deal. needs new gen maint. things brakes, chain F sprocket( Im gonna drop a tooth). Anyone got a parts bike with any of this left?
