2000 vfr800

Help, my vfr is having trouble starting(fuel injection won't prime?) any thoughts? Thanks....

 

More info. When you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump whine? does the engine turn over?

when I turn the key there is no whine..I have to turn on/off many time to get the whine(prime?) to work... When it does, the bike starts as normal!!! any quick fix or does a trip to the shop sound like the best fix?

 

have you checked the fuel pump and/or the connections to the pump?

Not yet, no time to check anything....I will investigate before posting more questions... still, any other thoughts would help!

 

I think you've pretty much nailed down the cause. Fuel pump isn't priming for some reason.
