Just thought this might be of intrest, to anyone who cares? I will be up at Laguna Seca this Monday and Tuesday with Ride Redshift, the school I work for. We will be riding the new Buell 1125RR. On monday it will be just the northern California Buell dealers. Tuesday will be customers if you will, people that signed up through the internet. Our owner Donna Rusconi got spaces for us to ride on tuesday as a Christmas present!!! I also will have my VFR there to ride, the newer one. I'll give my opinons on the bike, probably on wednesday evening after I get off work. This will be the veiws of an 'ol slow guy. Talk to you guys then, Greg

Nice present! I think a lot of people would be interested in how the 1125 rides. The specs look good and with the new motor it should be pretty sweet.

 Already did the Buell ride @ MMP on the 4.5 mile full course this past Summer.

It's comfortable, a boat load of torque, fast, handles & corners very good.
Tyres they use blow Pirelli corsa III's (brand new & I had the bike 4 sessions in a row & I smoked them to where needed replacement & probably would of been a lot better on Dunlop qualifiers).

My big worry was the front brake & it actually worked very good.

I ran the bike like I was racing it (because I'm looking for a new bike to race for 'o8 & replacing my RC51).
With some suspension mods & the French made swing arm chain drive kit, would be a competitive bike ( the belt drive worked good though).

For a race bike, as said, some mods it would be better, but for a sport tourer like a VFR is used for, it could easily be a much funner & more comfortable bike than the VFR (not to mention the torque, HP, & that beautiful sounding Rotex Motor  ), it's no in-line 4 or V4, but it is has a lot more character & fun to ride.

Laguna isn't as fun as MMP (I know, I've raced & done track day's @ both), But you will have a blast on the Buell there.

I rode the 1125R at a Buell Inside Pass day back in September, it was nice, but I wouldn't replace the VFR with it. 15 minutes riding felt like 1 hr of brush hogging... the vibes were pretty pronounced through the bars!

Taz and Sebspeed, I'm still looking forward to riding that bike. I am not trying to replace my VFR either, but should still be fun. I would like to ride a track like MMP someday. My favorite big boy track for an old-n-slow guy is Sears Point, love all the elevation change, off camber, and direction change. Reg, I forgot to mention the dates, Dec. 17th and 18th.

ARRRRGGGHHHHH! I'll be in Misery er Missouri freezing my ARSE off! How did I ever survive those winters in MO and Montana with no riding? It boggles the mind. Out here we get to ride year round. It's so nice. My co-workers still ask me after 2 years why I ride. They'll never get it.

Well, our Buell trackday was a complete RAIN out.:frown: If you were following the weather in the Monterey area, you know it rained from monday morning light most of the day. I went to bed monday at 2200 hrs. and it was raining steady but light. It just continued all day, hard at times and stopping for a few minutes. Now for the bad news, we never got to ride as customers. The dealers were able to get time in on the bikes on monday, lucky folks. So all we will know about the bike are from our two fellow VFR'r friends. Maybe next time, talk to you guys soon... Greg
