I saw a 4G in Lake George this summer with gold rims under the stock red.

    Looked totally HOT. Really HOT.

I think those red with the black bike were pretty sweet and original looking. I liked the gold also, but the red was better with the black IMO.

    Hot Rims in Gold

Dug out a photo of a mates Viffer (sadly its moved on) with the gold rims which, in my opinion, are an equal best choice against chrome - especially if the bikes paint is a dark colour.

    Cheers & Merry Xmas!!

Well....I guess I cant just leave this bike alone. I just got it back from storage this winter. I am sanding the cast part of the wheel and buffing it out. I've also bought those clear blinkers from Germany. I have to take a pic when it stops raining here. I even bought one of those bike covers that zip up. I think that's the best mod I've bought!! After about a 12 hours of pouring rain, the cover had a puddle in one of the folds. I unzipped it, and the bike was totally dry. It was huge improvement from coming home and finding my bike cover in someone's yard a half mile away. Anyway, if the wheels come out decent, then I think I'll tackle the cast part of the frame and then the sprocket/hub....

Remind me "Not" to polish anything again!! What a big job. I didn't have the patience to get the all the pores out of the aluminum. I started polishing last Thursday the 6th nite and I just finished putting the wheels back on yesterday. I though I'd never get done.
I bought the Black and Decker "mouse" sander and a tube of Wenol. I'll go over it again next winter. I won't be sanding/polishing anything for a while. I gotta get in "SOME" saddle time right?? Well.....maybe just the hub. lol
I failed inspection, so I had to splurge on some conti road attacks. These things feel waaaay better than my Pilots. I think it was just that the Pilots were so worn. With new tires, the bike is much more responsive. I'll post some pics this week.

dude checkout www.caswellplating.com, they have a great motorcycle polishing tutorial. i did it and once you are done with the various polishing rouges, then add some mothers polish on there 2 or 3 times(the more you do it the more it will shine) oh and get a angle grinder and convert it into a polisher, the speed is fast and will do great with the rouges...you will love the look. they also have pictures of powerdercoated wheels and various parts. and even goes into how to powerdercoat at home...check out harborfreight.com for a small electric oven and start your own hobby/business, caswell sales the powdercoating equipment...not afiliated with any of them at all, but they have great products.

Any polishing job I would do would be farmed out to a pro. Its just to much labor to do by hand.

Wheels - Chrome is cool but the wheels in this thread is da bomb! Wish I could handle the bucks right now. They come in any color you like....
