I just don't get it these people advertise their bike yet won't answer the phone or respond to e-mail or messages through the listing platform.

Do they want to sell or not?

It is so frustrating especially as yet I have not even really seen a VFR except on my monitor I need to see one touch one sit on one and if possible get a test ride is that really asking too much? If I knew they fitted me and that I really liked the way they ride I could by online and get it transported here instead of riding/driving 3 1/2-5 hours to go and look at them

OK I get it that I do not speak the language (Bulgarian) but I use google translate in the messages and if they don't answer the phone they do not know that I only speak English.

Right now am so fed up even starting looking at Ducati Monsters again at least I know those having a 2002 620ie Dark Monster. It's now Tuesday mid morning here and no response at all from the dealers and I kow thay can have bikes in stock for a long time years even and maybe this is why!

The dealer in Sofia with the White 6th Gen VFR had a 750 Monster for sale when I was looking in 2024 I went there and it had some damage caused by a poorly done charging port being added and a few other little things I pointed out but they refused to haggle at all so I went and bought my Monster a 620ie somewhere else when I was looking fora lower lighter bike last December I checked their site and they still had that 750 Monster for sale I see it's gone now but they had that bike for two years at least and could have sold it back in My 2024 and when last checked they had dropped the price to less than I offered them for it.

Well, I think lots of them are just testing waters to see how much interest there is...
Or they "know what they've got" and think you should cater and grovel to them.
Too bad, they can sit on it forever in that case.

Have been searching the listing sites here to see if I can find something that does not require a 4-5 hours drive to go and look at the bike now about an hour away is Pleven and there is a VFR800 in Silver there and also a couple of VFR 750's a 97 model that says it's been track used :( and a Blue 99 model with 57,600km so the listing says:-

    https://www.cars.bg/offer/69b6e025f82fcffaa80b0944

though they are asking the same price as a decent VFR800 but will try an see if can get a response and maybe a look at it see if it suits or not it looks clean.

OK think that have come up with a plan of attack here in the mean time have sent an text to a seller in the local city who has a VFR800 listed asking if I can go and look at it the city is about 30km away so now travelling for hours.

The plan assuming I can get the nephew to agree to dog sit for a couple of days is to take the Merc C Class and drive the 3 1/2-4hrs down to the SW of Bulgaria south of Sofia and get a room for at least one night and visit the four dealers down that way and look at the seven VFR's they have listed at least two of these dealers are importers of used bikes and one has had one of the VFR's listed for about two years and have started to drop the price on it it's a Silver 2003 800 that was listed in Oct 2024 the dropped the price again on 26th May this year to 2200 euro it has 52,000km on it.

One of the dealer/importers say they offer test drives this interests me and f course would be much better than just sitting on one and going "vroom- vroom" :Eyebrows:
don't you think? Found a hotel that's offering 2 nights for 65 euro that should give me plenty of time to look at bikes and visit all the dealers around there all depends on the nephew now am looking at end of the month.

Yes, test drives are very informative. You can get good feel for condition of bike.
That's great deal on hotel. Turn trip into vacation! :)

Well as usual life has a way of getting in the way of plans and everything this end is on hold things as on the nephews end have gotten complicated good job had not booked the room as yet. He provides transport of people to airports, hospitals, and even shopping trips not a taxi but like chauffeur drive and due to the miles/kms he does the car is going in for service and annual inspection so he needs to borrow my C220 while this all happens. His Audi A6 needs a new hand/parking brake cable and of course the krauts have made this no simple task seems that the exhaust needs to be dropped to get to it. It also needs a gearbox service engine service and a couple of anti roll bar bushes replaced so they need it for a couple of days at least not sure if they are doing the cam belts again he had them done earlier this year but has racked up 50,000km since then.
