Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and wanted to post an introduction. Kinda of new to riding again with about 18 year hiatus. Family life happened and I gave up riding at about 2008. Found this 2006 Honda VFR in a garage and the owner said he was planning on selling. After 3 or 4 months, we were finally able to connect again. I test rode a used 2002 VFR in 2005 and wasn't too impressed. Ended up with a 2003 Suzuki GSXR 1k instead. I don't miss that one but do miss my old 2003 Suzuki SV1000S. Glad to restart where I kinda of left off (technology). More so to just have a bit of fun while getting to and from work. Brought my truck and 20 year old new canyon dancer. Swapped the battery and surprised to see 32 miles on the odometer when the seller advised 800 miles give or take. It starts too and was prepared for storage two years ago. Some oxidation on metal parts due to being by the West Coast. Even from being inside a garage or storage unit all this time. Tires made in 2005. Going to do my best to clean it up a bit and change all the fluids. Needs new tires. Then I will start really breaking the bike in. Larger than what I'm used to and have reactivated some unused muscles while straddling. I'm glad there is a dedicated VFR forum and hope to learn as much as I can about my new to me motorcycle.
Nope, older gentleman. Life happened I think. Multiple bikes during the time, maybe an impulse buy. He still has a Grom to get around.
That is what mine looked like brand new too. But mine now has over 233,000 km (over 144,500 Miles) now. My Avatar is the latest photo of it and that was about 3 or 4 years ago now. Its still rides really nice. Are you sure your odometer has not rolled? The Odo on these bikes go to 99,999 miles or KM then roles back to zero. I don't know why Honda did not make a higher mileage on their odometers. If you don't mind me asking, how much was he asking for it?
