Finished the carbs last night and got a start on the fairing repairs. Cleaned out the main jets and replaced the low speed jets with brand new 40's. Also new float bowl gaskets. Neither set had any history of leaking so I did not replace the fuel tube o-rings. These will be for personal use so if they start to leak down the road no biggie, I will address at that time. One set of the main jets were almost completely clogged. Both of these carb sets should work really nicely. I have one more set to do - maybe at the end of the day. It's the one that had the rounded off screw holding the air box bottom on, which I still need to get resolved. In the meantime going to get the fairing work done. First this..... Then this........ ........needs to look like this..... First a template......
Fairing work went well. Set aside to get this 3rd set of carbs done. These needed a little more care so doing a bit deeper cleaning. Discovered a way to get the little washers and o-rings out of the pilot screw holes easier. Pipe cleaner! One of the float valve pins was very hard to remove - was bent! So replacing that. One of the pilot screw o-rings - the large one on the outside - was torn up too so gotta find one of those. And one of the pilot screws still had it's little cap still on it....weird! And the low speed jets didn't even have a size stamped on them. Being replaced anyway but again - weird! Diaphragms are all out and look OK.
