What is the standard idle speed for my 98 F1, while at a stop once warmed up? My buddy took my bike for a drive a said he thought it was high. It normally runs @ two thousand rpm's.

2k (once warmed up) is too high. Don't have the specs with me, but it should be ~1300-1400 RPM. Mine idles at something like that, 1300 or 1400. I think there is a slight difference in idle speed in the spec for a cali model and non-cali model...maybe like 100RPMs

Are you sure your choke/fast idle is not sticking, or on partially?

The choke/fast is off and not sticking.

Actually, correct that, I think I was slightly off, I think the idle speed is 1200 to 1300. I just don't have the book with me to check. Bump her down ~700-800 RPM (from 2k).

Thanks for all your posts, I looked in the service manual to figure out how to change the idle, Took five seconds after the bike is up to tempsounds alot less stressed.

I read 1200 and 1400rpm for cali models.
