Thinking about moving my '99 VFR 800 on. It's absolutely excellent, but it's one of nine bikes in our stable, and things that can handle a gravel road fit into my life much more neatly these days. I'm still torn, but figured people here would be the best place to start. First, the bad: The upper fairing is an OEM Honda replacement. I bought it on eBay after I dropped the bike and cracked the original right after I bought it. The paint match is very good, the quality of the job is excellent, but the match is ever so slightly off in the right light. Most people don't notice unless I point it out. The dash surround cracked when I dropped it, so I glued it back together. It's got just over 14k original miles on it, and a clean title. Michelin Pilot Road 6s are about 15 months old, have less than 1,500 miles on them. Chain and sprockets are the same age as the tires. Stock replacement JT sprockets, Renthal chain. Oil change is less than 1,500 miles old. I am happy to change it for a serious buyer. It's got a PowerCommander, the wheels are half black/half polish, and has some very early aughts anodized bolts here and there. I have a Corbin Gunfighter for it, but the cover is dried out and it should be re-covered. I re-covered the stock seat and have no complaints. I love this bike. It's one I have lusted after for a long time, and leapt at when it came up for sale. That said, I don't ride street bikes the way I used to, so it's limited to short blasts around town, and I'm not interested in having a static collection of cool bikes. All in, I have $5,500 in this thing. I'd love to get $5k out of it ... These are getting harder to find, and if you want one, it's worth getting a good one. This one isn't perfect, but it's honest, and is mechanically sorted. Located in Staunton, Va. No trades, please. More photos upon request.
