Harley-Davidson Shuts Down

    Harley shut down for the week cause it is hunting season and they couldnt get enough works to work.

    Not to worry, if things get really bad for HD. Our Federal government will slap another tariff on imports to make the playing field even again. I'm sure some you are old enough to remember that gig in the 80's.

    Or maybe the Gov will bail them out like the airlines, cuz they're such an American Institution an all. Then our tax dollars would go to buy harleys for all the needy who can't afford one on their own...

    HD, and some other American industries, may get a boost if they can export their US nastalgia to other parts of the world to keep the factories working. I doubt this would work for Hormel and SPAM, but might for HD.

    I think the US market for expensive liter++ cruisers is likely to be saturated with RUBS for now.

    Now, the scooter market for college students...or the <$4K streetbike market (see Ninja 250) will do well if gas continues to climb. Honda has the "ruckus" and "big ruckus" for the market segment.

    Because with the combined high oil prices verses the amount of oil Harley's generally leak.......JK
    The prices are too high on everything and CEO's aren't going to take a pay cut......
