100_4963.JPG Here's mine. I just got it today. It's white, but my camera makes it look dingy for some reason.

I didn't have to pay extra for this one, it was randomly issued by the state. And my name is Mike.

I've had this one for quite a while. Personalised plates were released here in 1987. The plate is currently on my MT-10 just to confuse everyone.

Sort-of, bikes (and ATVs and tractors) can have a two-line plate that is taller and narrower, or the landscape format that I have on the MT-10 (which is the same as all other vehicles here) with uo to 5 characters; other vehicles have upt o 6 characters. My favourite personalised plate was on a truly crappy scooter years ago, a two line plate that read "IT GOS".

Here we can only have up to 5 digits/letter combo. It costs over C$300 to get one so I haven't bothered. When I win the lottery I will, lol.

I was thinking only about the VF1000R and forgot about these two. This is a pair of 2015 CFR250L's.

During the summer of 2015 my wife had mentioned that she would like to have a motorcycle. She had never ridden one, not even as a passenger. So, for Christmas of that year I decided I was going to buy her one. While shopping for it, the little Honda stood out from the others for a beginner bike. It is light weight, fuel injected, electric start, front and rear disc brakes, and a six speed gearbox. I settle on the little dual sport because she would be able to ride it on the road and right up to the barn to feed the horses, etc. But, I knew I couldn't buy only one because she would think that I had bought it for me, using her as an excuse. So, I bought two identical bikes, his and hers. She loves it and because it was a Christmas present, she named it Comet, like Santa's reindeer. She names everything.

Here are those two plates. KY doesn't allow the use of the letter "U" on a plate, so I had to substitute the "U" with a "V". And disregard the TRVMP plate where it says, "Active Duty". The DMV messed that up. I haven't been active duty since 1987.

Seriously. No U on vehicle plates in Kentucky? Is there a reason for that?

Yeah, seriously. This is a copy and paste from the kentucky.gov's website, "The letters “I”, “O”, “Q”, and “U”, are no longer available for plate personalization."

One can imagine the words that can be spelled with those letters, but it must go through an approval process, regardless. I think it's because someone's sensibilities may be offended by some words that use these letters. We see it all the time nowadays. People seem to have a hard time mellowing-out.

I don't think "bad words" is the reason. It's to keep people from making plates like "I1OI01O"
