Just had an idea. Going to take my endoscope over and take pics of the insides off all 3 new bikes' fuel tanks. Fuel tanks are empty right now and from looking inside the top they all look really good. May as well get a closer look inside! ;)

Kinda got lucky with the RC26 currently inside my home garage. I always keep one of my bikes here that doesn't need anything and can be ridden at the drop of a hat.

Jumped on her last night for a spin and whoops.......no front brakes! I took her for a very short spin regardless and then took a look first thing this morning and discovered the problem was just a loose banjo bolt at the MC. Whew! EASY fix because the fluid never dropped too low so no air got into the lines.

The Hawk needed some run time and she is easy to load into the truck, so I dropped off my truck for service and took the hawk to work. She is a little under geared for 70+ highway speeds, but the easiest commuter in the world.
She is starting to show some solid need for TLC. I would love to find a new tail section. This one shakes like a Harley. Most of the mounting points have been broken at one time or another.
Because we live near the ocean, corrosion is starting to creep in. Maybe I will charge my son for the work and put her up on the rack when the 400 is done. :)

I bought this one after seeing it in action by a friend. Haven't actually used it yet myself.

I bought mine just over a year ago. I don't use a smart phone so wanted to have one that also had it's own screen. I paid around $50 and really like it but see it's no longer available from Amazon:

    Endo

The one referenced by Capt 80's looks like a good one if you have something to use with it for viewing.

FWIW, I am still trying to perfect my skills with mine. I need to spend more time using it and trying all the different features. Many times my pics come out a bit blurry. All in all though - a very handy tool for sure!

It is and it isn't. I'm working on a system to get a better handle on things. In the meantime I feel like a kid in a candy store. But also feel the weight of responsibility to do what's needed for all of them. And in the short term get some of them running again!

After dealing with the one with the Kreemed fuel tank - I was a bit sensitive to the issue of fuel tank condition on my next purchase - which turned out to the the 3 that were delivered Monday before last. All 3 were purchased long distance without me putting my eyes on them other than photos. Plus some verbal reassurance from the sellers of their condition. So naturally when they arrived the very first thing I did was open each fuel cap and peer inside with naked eye + flashlight. My transport guy was right there with me too...ha ha. He's a good guy and actually cares a LOT about the condition of the bikes he transports, obviously. In fact when he picked up the White RC26, he actually made a point in telling me how nice it was. Something I did not expect but really appreciated.

So bottom line is all 3 of those bike's tanks look great along with the Blue RC26 I got from Kenny Kaplan last December, which will be the next one I get going.

To further make things interesting......I was recently able to make a purchase of two RC24-26 tanks that have their original RWB paint and are almost perfect. I knew I was going to need one for the RC24 I bought in Winter Springs and now with the one from Boston having a coated fuel tank, that might be where the other one goes. IF I can get it going again - remains to be determined.

    Here are those 2 tanks.....

    IMG_0821.JPG

    IMG_0819.JPG

So yeah....lots of bits and pieces to deal with but not a bad problem to have!

BTW - I called Kaplan Motorsports today and asked Ken Jr what their secret was for keeping their tanks so nice inside when they send them out and he said just coat the inside with WD 40.

I still have that White RC26 tank filled with ER so will try his recommendation after I get it washed out good and see what happens. Sounds like a great idea, to me!
