I use a dark metallic grey on a lot of misc chassis stuff. Good looking but still kinda subtle for being non-stock.

    Nice.

I'm getting the frame powder coated in gold metallic. I wanted an aluminum color but they didn't have that in metallic. Do you think the gold will work or should I switch to the aluminum color ?

I finished removing the paint from the left side foot peg bracket but it wasn't easy. I don't know what type of paint it is but paint remover or any other chemical wouldn't touch it. I finally got it clean sand blasting it. It took about an hour of blasting ! left side foot peg bracket1.jpg

Factory Honda finishes are amazing. Until you don't want it anymore.

I decided to remove the rear foot peg mounts as I won't be using them. cut and filed. I'll clean them up some more when I get my new foot pegs.

Seems to me you could have lost that whole rear section. A non existent passenger doesn't need heel guards.

That's correct, and it's still easy to do. My other vfr500f has heel guards removed. The reason I left them on is because I plan on using VFR400 bodywork and I just might need the extra length to mount something.

OK. I'll work on digging them out this weekend. Pretty sure I know where they are. If it gets far into next week without me saying something, shoot me a reminder. Just walking into my shop pulls me 7 different directions.

I need it like a hole in my head, but I did enjoy the power to weight, color, and handling characteristics. Stock even. Sound could have used a little help though. I had plans if the OE bodywork didn't work out, but it was so clean and fit well.
I would love to do an NC35 kit onto a 500 that has body issues but runs well. I say that and then realize my RVF is sitting right there on the bench. WTF...lol

I'd like to do a full bodywork swap on a 500 too. I have a bunch of parts saved up for a pretty sweet build, including a very unique 1/2 fairing.
