    Good afternoon all......

Feel free to post what you want regarding your setups. I will start with mine.

I hinted I would be doing this modification and today was the day.

I bought this trailer about 3 years ago from a CL ad. Private seller in St. Augustine. All aluminum and very lightweight - perfect for a motorcycle except......the bed is only 6' in length....and our Interceptors run closer to 7' in length. Oops!

I found I could do transports by parking the bike in diagonally. PITA but do-able. During the acquisition of the '86 VF500F....the seller came up with a brilliant solution that I hadn't thought of. Just cut out the front and move the bike forward over part of the tongue. He didn't mention the chock - that was my contribution.

I got everything done today but still need to test it and also there's a couple cut off angle railings I need to secure, which I will do later today.

I bought the chock from Amazon. It's removable if I want to use the trailer without it.

    A few pics.....

The day I picked up the VF500F last year. I did the same thing with quite a few other bikes. PITA and not ideal!

IMG_2436.JPG I bought this at KMart in 1988 for $300. It folds in the middle and stores against the garage wall.

    Gorgeous Nighthawk...wow...love the colour!

    Love the front wheel "holder'!

I think Harbor Freight sells fold up trailers. I was tempted to get one but wound up with this little aluminum one instead.

Best $150 I ever spent. I was buying an Aprilia Mille my wife found on CL and the guy gave me a smokin deal on the bike and was all, "anything else in the garage spark your interest? How much for the trailer that folds upright and can sit vertical? $150"...sold
Made double back on the Mille when I sold it as well. :) Thus the money for the NSR250!

That Tuono is now sold, since I was going 130, but slowed to 87 before the CHP could nail the speed down. No reason to go 130 while still lugging a bike in 6th gear. Plenty of reasons to cap out at 100 anymore. :)

Used my little 4x8 yesterday for the first time this year. We got a bit of a warm snap that melted a bunch of snow and left the roads dry. Tested out the VFR TRS pins.
    upload_2025-3-1_8-33-13.png

I can do 2 bikes on there. It's just real cramped.
    upload_2025-3-1_8-34-10.png

I'll be buying a full enclosed sometime soon in the next couple months. Trying to decide between single and dual axle and either 6x12 or 6x14. We've got Carolina Motorsports Park, Pittsburgh, Blackhawk Farms, Ozarks, and Daytona on the schedule for this year. I'm a shitty trailer driver, and I love how tiny the 4x8 is. But we'll see what ends up happening. I don't have a great place to store a big boy trailer, but I really want one to the point I'm going to figure something out.

$150 for that Kendon may go down as the best motorcycle-related deal anyone has ever gotten. Those things are awesome.

++1 on that Kendon steal. I paid $2700 for mine from the factory in 2018 when we got "Big Girl," our Victory CCT. After having used lesser quality, harder-to-store stuff in the past, I considered it worth every dollar. Still do. Stores upright, 2' from the wall, the "tail" folds forward onto the front half for storage or towing empty…very compact when towing empty. Tows like it's hardly there. Three Ridgelines, one trailer.
    BTW, that's a great work-around, Baz.

The trailer and our lift (most likely the two most useful tools for motos) were deals my wife found. There is no way I could have afforded the bikes I have without her.
Our lift was free with a CT90 that we flipped. Lost money on the bike, but the free lift was well worth the loss.

^ I like those rear swing arm mounts CD. Locked down! I am still on the same truck since 2002. Silverado 1500 that is a little beat on the outside, but runs amazingly and has cost me almost nothing in repairs over the 23 years. Carried over 30 bikes, 245000 miles and a race box trailer for 3yrs and still on the original engine and tranny.

CD, things to consider with the box. Try to get one with a wedge front. It does help on the windy days. Also consider if you get a flat. Double axle helps. You can also use the trailer to sleep in. Not sure your situation (family), but the 14' can be a bitch around parking lots. As long as your are not in a hurry, you shouldn't regret the box vs open at all. We did that for 3yrs and it was a cheap way to get through the weekends. Spend more money on tires and crash parts..lol

That's awesome about the longevity of the Silverado! I'm hopeful I'm able to get well over 200k on my '14 F150 without anything major happening. Engine and transmission are still awesome--it may just fall apart due to rust before anything else.

I'm trying to figure out my true use-case for an enclosed trailer. If I'm travelling by myself, a 6x12 V-Nose single axle would probably be fine. Likely two bikes and a pitbike since I'd have the space. The ability to sleep in a trailer is so much nicer than waking up in a puddle inside of a tent, hah. Luckily I've stumbled into a situation where I know people that are willing to toss me a spot in their camper if I offset some of their camping costs. That's an easy choice for me.

Where a dual axle would be nice though is if we decide to travel to a spot and want to fit a bunch of weight in there. We discovered at Pitt last year that there are similar AirBnB type things with RV's. It was near the same price for us to have an RV dropped off at the track on Thursday and picked up on Sunday than it was for us to pull our own 30ft camper once you factored in all the extra gas consumption and the crazy toll fares you get nailed with in Illinois/Indiana/Ohio. But we'd still need to get a bunch of bikes there, so a trailer that could carry 3 full bikes and lots of equipment would necessitate a dual axle for weight reasons.

If I had a big flat piece of land to park it, I'd have already bought one. That's something I need to figure out.

Because I only need to haul one bike at a time....I have what I need. The mod I did with the wheel chock was a real game changer!

I love the fact that my all aluminum trailer is so light I can easily move it around by hand....in fact using only one hand.....as I did yesterday when I backed it into my new 15' wide storage unit.....

Rogue.....I hear you on your Silverado. My 1500 is also a 2002 and has 242K miles - original engine (Vortec 4.8), gearbox, etc. Engine runs like a sewing machine! Love the extended cab and full sized (8') bed.

And what I also love about my trailer is I can use it to haul stuff other than bikes!

We have the 5.3l and we used to take multiple bikes to Vegas for auction, so the double trailer worked perfect. We took 4 bikes each trip 3yrs in a row. :)

Kendon is very noisy and slippery, but I dampened the panels with some high density foam and I just walk carefully around it. The trailer is so low I rarely have to climb on it.

I started installing the U-bolts yesterday and will finish them today. I got the SS versions so I would have any rust issues.
