For those keeping score....this is the fourth one. This one came in running condition and not needing a whole lot to get her back in proper form.

She just got dropped off last night so I spent the morning cleaning her up a bit and going through the mechanicals. I also transferred out the fuel and replaced with some known fresh non-ethanol I had on hand, just to be on the safe side.

I had to adjust the idle up just a tad and that's all to have a functioning and rideable bike.

Looks like a few more things to do - not sure the dash light(s) are working or the temp gauge. Speedo and Tach work fine.

I took her over to my storage unit - about a 15 minute ride - so plenty of time for a riding assessment. She ran great - SUPER quick! Suspension (rear shock) might need some attention.

You'll also see in the photos one of the previous owners did some surgical stitching with wire to repair the fairings. Eventually I will address this - but for now it doesn't affect anything other than cosmetics.

The tires are both Bridgestone BT-45's. I didn't look at the date codes yet but they look good to the naked eye.

There's also an aftermarket front brake master and braided SS lines. Both brakes work great! As does the clutch and transmission. Very smooth shifting.

I also got a title with the bike....last dated 2024. So I'm thinking that owner probably had the bike serviced and brought up to operational condition including probably the carbs.

I checked and no tool kit but the owner's manual was there.

The fuel tank is in exceptional condition. Zero dents and hardly any scratches. It was coated inside though. Petcock works perfect.

I'll also need to re-cover the seat at some point.

It came with two keys. One fits the ignition and helmet lock and the other fits the fuel tank cap.

In case anyone is interested, I paid $1,500 for the bike and another $400 for transport. I feel very good about the value I received against cost.

It's an odd premise for the next James Bond movie villian, but I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it :D

"You expect me to NOT buy your 87 VFR?"

"No Mr. Bond. I expect you to die."

No. All my Blue bikes were made in Japan.

However....I have two White '87's that were made at the Ohio plant. One is the first Interceptor I ever bought - that had been re-painted Yellow when I bought it back in '97. I still have it and am going to restore it. The other is in almost original condition and runs great!
