    Hi,

I'd like to share my own "recipe" to get my G5 as close as possible to my ideal VFR, the G4.
I do love G4: its style, its class, its riding, its feeling.
It matches my idea of what a VFR should be.

G5 is even better in some aspects (engine, rear tire size), but it's too much redundant in others: D-CBS, PAIR, intake flaps.... it's too much to me. In my mind, VFR has to be "pure". Refined, classy yet sporty, noble, but LEAN.

So, here's my path to pursuit my idea.
That's, actually, what most of you did; so no surprise at all

At first, PAIR, intake flap, passenger grips and footpegs (I use my bike "solo", because my wife has her own bike).
Here's the first bunch of stuff removed.

To remove D-CBS I follow the way of most of you (VTR1000F frontend swap) so nothing new to show.
I' d just like to remark 2 small upgrades: a forkbrace in Avional 2024 designed by me and thw wheel spacer in aluminium in the place of the orginal in steel.

    Here's the frontend complete

Then, I converted the ignition system from the original coil-based one with 4 coilsticks coming from a Triumph 1050.

To close the package, I removed the original front light indicators by installing a pair of mirrors with led lights integrated, covering the fairings holes with proper caps from Thurn Motorsport

    and... here we go!

By the way... the G3 wheel bolts on to G4 and is a 5.5". A G5 wheel can be installed on either with some easy machining for the brake rotor nuts.

If the rear hub happens to be disassembled, you can also use some low profile hardware to negate the need for G5 wheel machining.

Having owned a 4th gen for 8ish years, I agree much of what you said. Its a little jewel of a bike and the detail on it mimics a Ducati..
The ergos fit me perfectly and so much that I use 4th gen clip ons on my 5th...

Also agree on th 5th gen... LEAN.. mine is setup the same.

    - Waht on yours? No pair plates? (friendly poke)

Oh yeah. I guess I was looking at the oil cooler fittings... never mind. I'll let myself out.
