    I created a 17" front out of a XR500R front hub, XR500R rear rim and XR200R spokes.

Because I wanted to improve the street use of the bike, just like modern "M" versions of dual sport bikes.

It works and handles really good, but I can still ride it off road if I want to. I already have a dedicated dirt bike for real single track use.

And it is different and I created it.

I was trying to say is that it only felt bigger, but didn't feel proportionally heavy or sluggish. It felt like I was experiencing the same speed with braking and apex marks approaching in the same manner as the other smaller bikes.

This one didn't absolutely need to be winterized, I'll probably get this one out enough over the winter. But... after finishing fixing the oil leak around the counter shaft area I was getting an occasional drip on the shop floor from what appeared to be the drain plug. What the fuck. I drained the oil and found maybe there was something under the drain plug washer, it had a weird impression. New crush washer and back in business it goes. After the next ride... a bigger oil drip! WHAT THE FUCK?! OK, maybe I didn't crush the washer. Never had it happen, but fine. Put a wrench on it... fuck. Just keeps spinning. Now I know. So... order a drill bit, 14mm tap and new 14mm drain plug.

Get everything ready and as the oil is draining, I drill out the bad hole. Went perfectly. Get the tap loaded and ready and pour fresh oil in the filler as I tap it. Also went perfect. Keep pouring some fresh oil as I go in with some Q-Tips and probe and twirl as I come out. Repeat. What is dripping out is clean, so pour some more oil thru. Clean. And done.

I've been thinking of giving up on my Hawk for a while. Then I see how great they look and remember how much people love those bikes and I start to reconsider. Now I learn I can cook sassages on it while I ride! This weekend will be cold and rainy and miserable and I will be 100% focused on finding that title.
