Beautiful bike! Will need some work - battery, carbs, brakes, clutch, and new tires. Nothing I can't handle.

Mismatched wheels & wrong colour seat too but no biggie. Fuel tank looks CLEAN inside and the keys fit all 3 locks equally!

This is my third Blue '87 and is in better condition than the other two, so I'm pretty stoked to have acquired her!

Bought on eBay from Kenny Kaplan - $1,950 w/BIN option. Then had to pay shipping - $600.

Has a water temp gauge installed in the right infill cowling and what appears to be a clock on the other side. And a toggle switch. Not sure what that controls...

Cool! Toggle switch likely fan? Cut out for the clock is not confidence inspiring.

The "glint" on the VFR decal is funny. Just noticed the pin-striping too.

Man, you are working on a fleet.

My vote is silver rear wheel. Get rid of all the ill-placed stickers and you got a pretty sweet looking 87.

The WHITE Brothers sticker is intriguing. Any hidden gems to be found? Shock? Stock fork caps?

Haven't really dug into it yet but will later this week. Kinda rainy out today so just threw a cover over her for now. I really want to see if it still has the tool kit! ;)

I'm with you - that's how they came from the factory, right? I do see some with White wheels though so don't know....

Wheels were silver on that model in the US. UK versions had some funky color combos, imo. Like they had extra white wheels or something.

A rust free tank? That's not right!

Oh, but the HRC stickers mean it was racer at some point in it's elustrious carrier.
    How many miles?
I always thought that that year in blue looked "top-shelf".
My vote is for silver wheels.

    Thank you!

    35,884 miles.

Pic of fuel tank from top. Will know more when I get the tank off and get a better look inside. Would benefit from an Evaporust soak but otherwise pretty clean and like what I see!

Hah, I bid on this one but didn't win. I'm an hour away from those guys, I saw this bike last summer.
The bike is missing rear chain adjusters. It will be an awesome ride once its back on the road.

How did you see it last summer? Just curious. Was it sitting inside the museum somewhere?

    I'm interested in it's history.

I think it was bought as part of a collection.

Sorry I beat your bid - I used the BIN option when it was re-listed with a lower BIN than the first auction. I thought the BIN was reasonable, all things considered. Unfortunately - it cost me another $600 for the transport to Florida. Yes I noticed the missing chain adjusters. I have a pair of used ones but it will need a few other things as well. Hoping to get some activity on it by next month. I have a different Blue one (also an '87) on my lift table right now I need to finish up.

Hey everyone.......guess what.......I have another one of these coming soon. Purchase already made (FBMP) - just waiting for transport. Hoping for arrival in about 10 days or so. Runs and rides but will need a few things including some fairing work. Will know more after it arrives.

I tried to buy it last month but the owner at that time was terrible at responding to me. This time around got everything done in one phone call!

This will make 4 of the exact same model! :)

Will start a new thread once it gets here.

Sorry about the blurry photo, but gives you a rough idea.

Cool and congrats! Can't wait to see more.

Also I am very glad you are here. The next time I get shit for having so many similar bikes, I will just show them your pics.

    "Now THAT is sick."

    Thanks!

To be honest.....I think I'm harder on myself for having so many than anyone else could be.

I KNOW I have too many and don't need anyone else telling me that. Happy to bear that cross for many reasons! :)

But in this case, the first 2 Blue bikes I bought (2018 & 2019) were a bit beat up. But at the time, they were available locally, and I couldn't pass up getting such an iconic bike! The '87 RC26 is my fav. model/year Interceptor. Sentimental reasons mostly but they're also a very nice year and model. These last 2 are opportunities to move up in condition. Eventually I can see myself just having one of them. The nicest example.

I also feel these bikes are decent investments and in time will appreciate in value. Just my gut feeling with nothing to back it up.

Anyhoo......FWIW you'll never catch any crap from me for the number of bikes you have. If anything.....you have mad respect from me - and I'm sure everyone else here!

    Rock on brother.......;)
