    29K is a "ton"? Hmmmm... one owner 1986. I'd take that gamble no prob.

    I'm the second owner of an 86 that has 25K (got it with 7K) and it is still a fucking sweet sewing machine. Got it when I was 19... was not necessarily babied, but was properly maintained.

    It's not the valves, it's the valve springs. Go ahead and take em to redline on spirited runs... just don't stay there forever.

    Yeah, you are right, I would probably be looking at if it was in H-Town! I am a sucker for these.

    Just such a crap shoot. I have had a VF500F and a VF500C and they both had valve issues and the rings were substantially worn at about 30K.

    Not a huge sample size i know, but I would like a compression test before buying, but that is a tough ask when buying a bike off CL.
