Okay so I have a 1998 Honda VFR800 and I have 12v going to the Black/White wire all the way up to the coils. However the issue is with the kill switch to run my voltage is gone, and if my kill switch is off my voltage is there? Can someone please explain this to me thank you!

We'll need to work backward from your measurement point, for which we need the wiring diagram. By 'kill switch', you mean the big red thumb switch on the right bar (called the Engine Stop Switch in the manual)?

The coils are wired to the ECU, as is their common zero-volt wire, where are you measuring them? At their respective coil connectors, I presume?

Can you narrow down the problem? Is the engine not starting? Starter not kicking over? With ignition on and the engine stop switch ON, do you hear the fuel pump run for a couple seconds?

Do you have volts across the ignition switch and stop switch contacts?

Sorry if these questions seem basic, I just want to understand the problem better. My first thought is to check the fuses, it might be just that simple.

    BTF/PTM or Anybody.
Don't waste your time on this thread!

Brayden should have deleted it weeks ago! He posted the same thing on VFRD.
He had no idea of how and what he was measuring, nor any ability to follow the wiring diagram, his statement above is evidence of that!.

It's all in the VFRD Forum and has been resolved. There was nothing wrong with his Kill Switch OR the voltage from it to energise the ESR.
