Hi again all sorry but I'm in a bit of a pickle I have all my swingarm in rear wheel and hub on etc torqued to spec
I am at the part of turning the eccentric hub and chain to finish the job
however when I turn the hub back for tension it dosent stay in that spot it moves and drops forward all the brake bolts and brake carrier bolts are done up,
I have the vfr on the centerstand, the pinch bolt is in the hub but not tight, so my question is do I tighten the pinch bolt and back it off 1 turn so the hub might stay in one spot then tension the chain or how do I stop the hub and brake calliper stay from moving while tensioning and were should the hub sit, 98 vfr 800 5th gen, I have checked the manual and it only tells you how to pull hub off but not back on with how to do it right any help gladly appreciated cheers

    It is quite simple.

Loosen the pinch bolt at the very back of the swing arm.

Engage the C spanner in the tool kit and use it to adjust the chain to the correct tension. Then holding the tension with the C spanner tighten the pinch bolt.

I find it best to loosen the pinch bolt just enough to let the C spanner be able to move the eccentric hub with a slight resistance.

Make sure that you have the washer with the hose guide in place on the pinch bolt. If the washer is missing, the bolt is long enough to bottom out in the threaded hole and not give enough clamping force to stop the eccentric moving while riding.
