This is fairly recent, but I'll be just coasting to or stopped at a red light, clutch in, RPM around 1,000 - when it will just quit running. I'm probably imagining things, but occasionally before this happens - I hear/feel a light tick prior to the stall. Just looking for thoughts on where to begin the diagnosis!

I know my 5th gen really dislikes an idle that is too low, and will stall very easily if the idle is much below 1200. My first suggestion is to wind your idle up (the manual I have states 1200 +/- 100 rpm as a target.

I'm going to tweak my idle, Terry. Thank you!

How many miles on the bike?

Have you ever checked the starter valve sync?

    1200+-rpm idle speed

So I did some electrical system diagnostics with a friend. We did get some weird resistance readings from the battery to the ignition switch, but continued to the stator. Visual inspection was ugly! So I'm ordering a new stator - we'll see how it goes.
