I have a 2003 VFR800. The big chrome heat shields look out of place to me. Has anybody found aftermarket heat shields, maybe carbon fiber finish? Or any thoughts of how to cover/refinish the heat shields?

I looked for this for awhile myself with no luck. I do recall seeing some CF heat shields for the stock cans but can no longer find the site or company. Since that time I purchased a Leo Vince system for my '02 and the up-pipe comes with its own CF heat shield. You could not just order the shield though as the unit is smaller and the stock bosses would not line up.

My neighbor works for Carbon Werks, and I think they make carbon stuff mostly for dirt bikes. I don't have a 6th gen but I'll show him the shields you speak of and see if his company might be interested in making something.

You mean the heat sheild on the right hand side? then yes, there is a carbon fiber version.
or do you mean the heat sheilds on the exhaust?

Uhh, those are stickers, most likely made of vinyl. Not something that you would want to put anywhere near a hot exhaust. Unless you like cleaning hot gooey melted vinyl off your bike.

I'm speaking of the heat shields on the exhaust canisters on each side, up just below the seat.

That is the one I have, that is just the replacement for the heat sheild on the right hand side. Not for the ones on the muffler like he was looking for. I would doubt anyone would make them, as the market would be even more limited than the rest of the carbon fiber bits, due to many potential buyers just replacing their mufflers all together.

I have an '06 pearl black, i used a metallic black stove paint, comes in a spray can, looks amazing, also did passenger pegs and a few other small parts, probably primer first, i didn't and it will rub off after a little, either that or a couple coats
