Does anyone still make, or have available a performance exhaust for the VF500F? If not, would other be interested if I designed and made one?

Not that I know of. There will likely be some interest of course, but the problem with these low volume scenarios is the cost at the end. For anything that actually works AND looks good, it usually ends up being well north of $1000 for a bike most people balk at paying more than $2500 for.

You're dead-on. A pipe like I want to build, in low volumes would be about $1000 to $1300 per system. So, yeah. Tough one.

NICE PICTURE!!! How recent is that? What do you do for tires?

That was a WHILE ago. Before wheel swaps were really a thing. AM 22/23 Cantilever Sprint Compound. Specifically designed for the narrow stock rims. 130/70-18, 120/70-16

The best bias ply tires I have ever sampled.

    Mike,

I have one more 500 build in me, and a trick exhaust would be killer. I have most everything already, including a full Yoshimura system. The problem with it is that they paired the left cylinders together and the right cylinders together. This was likely done for ease / cost of manufacturing, as I'm pretty sure this is not ideal for the firing order / crank arrangement for this engine. The system on my race bike pairs the front and rear separately with staggered lengths. That arrangement sure seemed to work quite well without a huge flat spot. And sounds AMAZING.

Curious what configuration you are considering in your design for this engine. The 84/85 has slightly different cam timing than the 86. This system sounded meaner with the replacement 84 engine, but my fastest lap was with the original 86.
