Another member here supplied me with this site after I spoke earlier at my disappointment in me being unable to ride comfortably on the 8th gen. It is an interesting site that shows the egos of most motorcycles out there.

I went into the afore mentioned dealer back in December 2014 when I had a 2003 VFR and they had this red 2014 Deluxe with paniers up on a platform. It had Quick Shifter installed and had only 2600 miles on it. They would not let me leave without it!! I traded in the 2003 and rode it home. You are exactly right about the ergonomics, it was all I could do to get my feet on the pegs, but I got it home. I had special lowering pegs on the 2003 but the 2014 had a different arrangement. Found a company called Knight Designs that made a set that dropped my feet down 1" and a set of MotoPumps risers made all the difference in the world. IMG_1012.jpg

How close to the gen 6 ergos do you think you had achieved? Maybe I might have a chance to stop the wet dreams and just get wet without the dreams after all. I just think the 8th gen is the sweetest looking VFR of them all. I might start looking again. Then again, I am well into a brake job including caliper rebuild and new "Stainless steel braided, red brake lines." for my old hag along with a few more minor repairs. The beatch will be good as new except, she has not turned back the clock to zero. Well, actually I had done that. The speedo turned past the zero point...twice.

Bwiess supplied that link to me back when I was looking at getting rid of my 06 and move onto the 2014 Delux white one with bags I found in a Vancouver dealership with low mileage. I made credit available on my credit card to buy it before I rode into the city to buy it. I was going to trade mine off for whatever they would give me and ride it away that day.

The pegs and the riser made all the difference in the world. I was 70 at the time, 6' and over weight. There is no way I was going to be happy with stock setup. I have put 30K miles on it, couple of inches here and there made those miles comfortable. Now I am pushing 80, more over weight and have lower back pain. Don't know how much longer I can ride her, but I feel much better when I do.

Someone should do Shaq's measurements on different bikes. I bet that would be pretty funny.

Well, he's no kid, but he's well known in the basketball scene for being a monster... upload_2024-2-15_10-43-52.png
Not so much known for free throw skills, though...

GSX-S1000GT, what do you all think of it? I'm seriously considering one.

If you like it an it's comfortable then most of the Japanese branded bikes are pretty reliable. You might miss the V4 sound, though. I know I still miss it sometimes and my VFR has been gone for many years.
