    Hey y'all,
I've read the other threads concerning this and this issue is really bothering me since there's a slight, slow fuel leak and a hissing sound every time I open the fuel tank. I've pulled the tank into the maintenance position to make sure that the tubes weren't kinked yesterday and that seemed to solve the issue until I filled the tank today.
The little mat on the underside of the tank is soaked with fuel which is making me think that the leak is coming from above all the vacuum/fuel lines. There's no issues with revs or power, just a constant leak and pressure issues with the tank.
Naturally this only started to happen recently when I need to sell the bike since my visa is about to expire.
    Thanks for any help.

sorry mate, I can't help you here, but your avatar is scary as chit. I have carbie bikes, so no FI for me. Maybe you need a new crush washer under one of the banjo bolts? Leaking fuel is not a good thing. Peace

The attached photo explains how to keep the vent hose unkinked when lowering the tank, it's vitally important to do this, take up the hose slack as the tank is lowered.

A kinked/blocked vent hose can cause serious enough vacuum while riding to implode your tank inwards. When stopped with engine heat soaking or on a hot day, strong positive pressure can build up. A strong vacuum situation will make it almost impossible to open the filler cap.

As to your fuel leak I wonder if the fuel pump gasket is weeping because of positive pressure build up.
Recheck the vent hose and make sure you take up the slack as the tank is lowered. Refer photo.

Under normal situations and due to a small lightly spring loaded valve within the cap you should only ever experience very slight vacuum or positive pressure when opening the filler cap, a short slight whoosh sound associated, and no issues opening the cap.
I'm also convinced that the intermittent fluttering or buzz noise so many 8gen owners including myself hear from the fuel tank after a ride is the normal positive pressure relief through the small internal filler cap valve.
    Hope this helps.

I just messed around with that hose again and blew through it, my hunch is the small hose is causing issues since it has a smaller kink in it just off of where it connects to the tank that stays even when I pull it off the tank. I took care to take the slack out this time. Going to let it sit for half an hour and come back to it.

Edit: still leaking. Maybe need a new small breather hose.

Exact same symptoms here - tank leaking / breather hose kinked (8th Gen 2016 VFR800F). I just got told by my mechanic I have a hole in my tank. They have quoted me AUD $1,820 + 3 - 6 month wait + labour for a new tank ......nope. They called back about 30 mins later after idenfying the location and quoted me $500 + 2 weeks wait to repair the leak.

A couple of days ago, I had a go at re-routing the breather hose and it seemed to correct it. See below.
