anyone know where i can get carb kit must have needle jet for a vfr750 fg 1986 , my carbs seem to have a aftermarket kit in them needle jet has 6 setting on them can't see any like them , i guess i will need to change all the jets
Are you going back to stock on exhaust or something? Are these "new to you" carbs that you are wanting to use in your bike? Are you trying to remedy a problem? Also, "needle jets" and "needles" are two different things. I believe you are talking about adjustable NEEDLES.
came with bike left in store and throttle jammed, one needle bent so need to replace . all the ones i see look different its the long one with the slide goes in at the top of carb
Got it. Might be able to heat it up and straighten. "carb kit VFR750" on ebay brings up cheap kits that include needles. No idea how accurate they are. Don't think I would use anything other than the needles out of a kit like that, except maybe alum crush washers.
Adjustable are NOT stock. They come in performance carb kits to give you the ability to dial in variations of modifications on different bikes and different conditions.
Yeah, that's my point. Gonna be hard to come across. I did do a quick search to see if I could come up with anything like an old Dyno Jet or Factory Pro carb kit and nothing. I don't know what your time frame is, but you could wait and see if anybody has something kicking around in their spares now that's it's clear what you had. So.. what kind of mods are done to this bike where it had this jet kit installed? That might help make a decision as to what needles you ultimately might want / need.
a stock '86 should run great on stock jetting at all rpm', but any changes to exhaust or air intake might need some tuning for best running, easier with kit needles. stock needles can be adjusted by means of washers. altitude and average temperature would also factor into best tuning. tuning each mixture screw to smoothest idle is useful.
