I just thought I would see who is out and who is frozen in their garages. I tried to make it between breaks in the rain. I failed. I got caught 5 miles from home right after I took this photo. Can’t say I didn’t enjoy riding in the rain though. :) The phone cam did not do the level of darkness justice. I also messed with the suspension and a much improved feeling although the front is twitchy. Maybe a 5~10 mm lowering on the forks?

My 8th Gen has been prepped for long term hibernating in the garage. So spotting a forecast spell of dry weather I took my Street Triple for a run down to Lake Geneva on Christmas eve. It was barely above freezing but very enjoyable. Everything went well with the heated grips working overtime until the heavens opened and by the time I got home the bike needed hours of clean up in bitter cold conditions. I will definitely be using the van for transport until April and the motorbikes will remain covered up until the forecast is for dry sunny weather and most importantly roads completely clear of road salt. Round here they use tonnes of the stuff most nights to keep roads mostly clear - but it plays havoc with exposed metal.

That salt can be nasty on bikes. I think that was part of the issue with Big Red when I picked it up. Also why the frame is powder coated. lol

I'm pretty much locked up. Although, the wife and I ran some errands on Saturday and about half way there, we both looked at each other and were thinking the same thing... "Why the FUCK are we not on the ST1100 right now?"

It was a weird day between systems and was nearly 50 degrees. Well that passed quickly by Saturday night. It is one system after another with temps in the 40s for the next 10 days.

If you have no choice then you ride regardless - but having the use of a van means I can endeavour to dodge the adverse weather and then drag the motorbikes out when the roads are clear.

I went outside right now and snapped a pic of our loading dock area to give an idea of how much rain we've had...

What is this "Winter" that you speak of? I took Bumblebee out on Sunday and actually gave up and came home. Partly the heat (32C/90F) with killer humidity but mainly because our crappy roads can't cope with the heat and start melting badly. After a few too many "exciting" drifts exiting corners I packed it in and rode home. IMG_5327.JPG

I'm actually heading to the Northern Hemisphere for a vacation at the end of the week; sort of looking forward to some cooler weather!

Shit... a few weeks ago it was up to the doors by the white truck across the street.

    We call it Lake Lafarge.
