Well my 86 GSXR750 Engine is trashed (not a surprise). It gonna cost me at least $2000 to rebuild it using alot of used parts, so....back looking for a 1200 bandit to take the engine from ( I got one back in September for CHEAP but its too pretty to part it).

    GSXR Engine issues:

Head is jammed up BAD with carbon - could be cleaned I guess - NEVER seen anything like it
All 4 cyl the valves all leak which is why I have zero compression on all 4 -- likely they are pitted, maybe not
Intake Cam is trashed 2 lifter lobes are badly worn
    3 rocker/followers are trashed
Block is trashed, its .8mm over bore and #4 is gouged really bad because someone forgot to put a cir-clip in and the wrist pin came in contact with the bore
#2 Rod bearing trashed (down to copper and huge pot holes in the bearing) some fine marks on the crank
3 crank bearings are trashed - through to the copper with huge pot holes in the bearings
Generator/Alternator is trashed, its melted its connectors

Id need new rings, gasket set, bearings, Cyl Block, 4 pistons, 2 cams, 3 lifters, valves etc etc

No, im not sure such a thing exists.

Im looking for a 1200 Bandit, any year, the engine is a direct fit and much more torque.

At the right price (1000-1500), it makes much more sense, since this current 750 engine is an '88 and not the original one anyway

Thanks SD, Yea, shipping would be a killer and cost prohibitive. US to Canada shipping is the most expensive I have ever seen (im not sure why)

    I appreciate the offer though

I don't understand it either. I block Canada on my eBay stuff cuz I don't even want to deal with it. Still have people contact me to ask and I just say I'm not even interested in checking anymore. It's just dumb. But I can reasonably buy stuff from Canada.

    Yes I am.

Ill have a roller all painted and shiny waiting for a heart transplant.

Im too far in to the rest of it now to throw in the towel, but with the engine the juice just isn't worth the squeeze

The other odd thing is, the economy here not good, interest rates are high, nothing is selling, even the used market has fallen to pieces, yet everyone thinks their piece of S%&t bike is worth a fortune. People won't even entertain a reasonable offer, some stuff has been for sale since the summer and hasn't moved. Its crazy.

If I come across a suitable donor, I will trailer it to the border.

I'd be willing to cross the border, I just don't know how thrilled they are about untitled bikes. Which I'd expect the right donor would be, untitled.
