First I need to source part. The carbs definitely need some love and work. I also need to replace every rubber hose and line on the bike. My work schedule has kept me from digging too deep into sourcing parts. I've done a few searches on here for retailers that offer carb stuff but in the short window I had, didn't come up with anything solid. There are a ton of ebay vendors for carb rebuild kits, who knows how questionable or reliable the parts are.

Yeah, just take the pain and stick with genuine Honda parts. Others have sourced their own singular o-rings so if you go that route stick to viton. Buy insulators if you pull carbs and they look like they have never been pulled (they will be rock hard, not rubbery). It will save a ton of anger on the back end. To do the carbs right it is worth spending the money and I think you can get everything for less than a $100-$150.
It has been too long since I rebuilt my 500. You should check out the other 500 builds on here as well. We all seem to have hit different snags and issues so together we have learned a lot.
Some have made great video "how-to" as well. Just takes some time digging and reading. Enjoy!!

Ohh and never be in a hurry to rebuild, patience!

    This was mine rebuild.

If this is a miniceptor, is the two-fitty a microceptor?

If you go this route, I'd email them first. I've used Billy's multiple times, and it takes all the guesswork out of getting the right rubber carburetor pieces. If you're looking for jet replacements, jetsrus.com has been great for me.

I emailed Billy's in February of this year at billysoutback@gmail.com, and they responded that they were still doing carburetor kits--just not carburetor cleaning service anymore. They used to have a whole website and everything, but that's gone now.

    Those are unreal SM!

The micro is what I got my license on. A white, teal, and blue I think. I was made fun of. "Gaaaay!!" was the term I believe. Little did I know I would have multiple VFRs in my possession. lol

People who have never ridden a VTR250 just don't understand. They think you should be embarrassed until you embarrass them on some back roads.

Maybe this winter I'll finally get this thing done...

I loved the few VTR250s I had. Superb bike. Great design. I raised the seat because I'm not a preteen. I imagine the VTR250 redo overseas (MC33?) was fun too.

There she is!!! That was my License getter!! The best part was that I was being made fun of by a guy who owned Ninja 600. Later they were rebuilding their engine because they had a crack in the crank case, while I was riding around still. F you Ninja!!

I did forget about the pink. hahahaha

At least the last year for the U.S. (1990) it got some upgrades. Wider rear wheel (was already 17") and new front 17" wheel with a normal disc. But still had to F up the graphics a bit.

I loved the '90 graphics on the one I rode the most. Also liked the black one.
