Cam Cover Crack

    Chasing a mysterious rattle / knocking in the rear engine area of my 2000, so checked and adjusting valves.
    1 intake and 3 exhaust out of spec ( loose ).
    Noticed what looks to be cracks on the cam cover. Perhaps just the finish on the topside as looks OK on the underside ?

    Unkown actually. Bought it this past winter.
    Someone previous has been in there with all the RTV bits I had to clean out.
    Bike has just 29,700 miles on it. Front cylinder valves all in spec. Only rear had those few out.

    Suppose could be just casting marks because the underside didn't appear cracked.

    I'd say that is just a casting mark, not a flaw. This was my VFR. IMG_1053.JPG
