Suggestions for 5th Gen Top Case

Hey all,

Got my 5th Gen VFR beginning of this year and have been enjoying it immensely. It's an awesome bike!

Anyway, I am wanting to add a top rack to the bike for a couple reasons. First reason is so I can have a bit of storage available for a full face helmet and possibly a riding jacket. Second reason is for a bit of a backrest for a passenger on longer cruises. (So I don't have to worry about them flipping off the back lol.) Will mostly be having a kid under 13 riding with me.

I already got the GIVI top case mount and am just trying to figure out at top case to go on it that meets those requirements...

GIVI has some cases that look like they would work of, I am just trying to figure out which would look the best on my bike. Bike color is black and I have a smoked taillight lens also.

If anyone has some photos of GIVI top cases on their bikes, or another brand for that matter, feel free to share them with me. Would really help me visualize how it will look. Thanks!

 

I run the old school GIVI and love it, and use E36 or E45 as a top case.

 

I have a Givi V47. No complaints.

 

What mounting bracket are you using for it?

Givi V47 here as well, works well.

 

Thanks for the input. The GIVI V47 is probably what I'll go for unless I find something else. I was also looking at the Shad SH58X. I like how it folds down and looks slimmer when not in use. It think it's overall too large and would love to find a box with a similar concept but smaller. The price of aforementioned box is also a lot more than the V47 lol. I was seeing some of shad's other designs that I liked also but wasn't sure about how to mount it. How does it work to mount a shad top box to a givi rack? It doesn't or is it even possible?
