Well, It has happened… I lost my Ignition.(and gas cap ) keys. Now I’m kicking myself for not making a spare. And I’m scouring eBay for a replacement., which will take a few days to arrive. But this bike is my daily ands I need it to get to work , the gym etc… this may sound like a shady question to ask. But is there a simple way to hot wire the ignition to get her to start without the key? I’m gonna take a look at the schematic to see if there’s something there tat will allow me to tie it all together. If any of you have found a way to do this I’d love to hear about it that would help me out a lot.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

    Keyless in California.
    Jim

If you commute on it, and you're home, and it is home. It can't be far, right?

We had a saying at the Honda Shop: Red + Red/Black = Green

At the Ignition Switch plug behind the dash, connect the RD and RD/BK wires.

    Full functionality.

I always have a jumper wire in my tank bag. Has saved a few people's days, both Fuel Cut Relay and Ignition jumps.

Also, if you're that far into your bike, if you remove the ignition switch, the key # is stamped in the body, last 3 digits.

Hope you have a full tank of gas and... (if you haven't already, sounds like you may know it) WRITE DOWN YOUR KEY NUMBER !!!!!! You just need to go to a good locksmith with Make, Model, Year, Key #.

Yes, Captain 80’s. After looking at the schematic I found the red & red / black = go !
    Thank you .
And now I’m down to 1/4tank of gas… my previous set of keys had a separate key for the gas tank. Would the ignitionkey # help me with the tank also ? I assume not. If not, is there a way to remove a gas cap without destroying it?
    Thanks for all your help.

    No.

No. (well... any of your friends pick locks?

Which key is the same as the Seat Latch?

Now I can definitely say, WRITE DOWN KEY NUMBERS!

There's a few versions of that style cap. I have a couple Vortex that work just fine. Look at Tyga as well.

Again, which key was the Seat Latch?
