Bolts?

What grade bolts do you use on frame, fittings and fairings on a rebuild?

what about stainless?

 

Stainless won't rust, but can corrode/gall badly where it threads in, and not as strong as regular strength bolts.
For important fasteners, I'd stick to steel. Or if you're really flush titanium.

 

Isn't stainless...steel? Even in stainless, there are varying qualities available. I'd do some research.

 

Bodywork: Aluminum or Stainless
Frame: Stainless or OEM with anti-rust treatment
Windscreen: Aluminum and Plastic

 

I thought about Titanium however I was concerned about galling and galvanic corrosion against the steel frame.

 

Thanks yes I was aware of different grades. I would be looking at 316 (marine) grade.
