I am getting ready to upgrade the regulator/rectifier to an FH020AA on my 1990 VFR750F. My question is where do you tap into the stator wires? Before the plug on the right side of the frame under the gas tank (eliminate the factory plug and splice into the factory wires)? Or do you have to splice as close to the stator as possible?

I have read many threads, but am unclear. Thanks in advance.

Just go back far enough prior to any plug to get to good, non corroded or discolored wire. Solder them, do not use any connector on that run.
