Has anyone ever tried to update thier gauges to digital gauges...trying to give 87 vfr700f2 a new look. and if so, can someone give any directions or guidance on how to do it. or maybe suggest some replacement gauges from another bike that might fit.
I put cbr1000rr gauges on my highly modified 4gen for two reasons. One: it fit the cbr600rr headstay perfectly. Two: It had the same redline. It doesn't have a gas level indicator only a reserve light. Everything else worked perfectly except the speedo which needs a calibrator. For any swap, you'll need the schematics of both bikes plus any sensors and/or switches that may be different. I had to change out the H2O sensor as stock was a 1 lead and gauge required a 2 lead unit. It's not rocket science but it's not plug and play easy either. This shot doesn't show very well the gauges in regards to the bike at all. And you can just barely see them in this shot. Sorry but this is all I've got of them on this computer.
