I just picked up a non running '95 VFR750 for cheap, but it hasn't run in a couple of years and the owner lost the keys (why I got it for cheap, but at least I have the title). I want to try and replace the battery so I can see if it cranks (I have a new ignition and gas cap w/ matching key), but I can't get the seat off because I don't have access to the original key for the helmet lock. Are there any non-extreme options that I can do in order to get the seat off? I really don't want to have to drill the helmet lock out if I don't have to, but it doesn't seem like I can find any other options online.

Do you have either of the old ignition switch or gas cap?

I still have the original ignition, yeah. As for the gas cap, I don't think I have it anymore unfortunately.

The key number is stamped in the cast portion of the ignition switch, near where the post comes out for the steering lock. Last 3 digits like "D24"

    Go get a key made.

Ohhhh, so it has the pin depths? If I understand correctly then, I'm guessing I just have to give a key blank and piece of paper with the number on it to a locksmith or anyone who can grind one down?

Most locksmiths will have the blank too. You can also order Honda cut keys off eBay.
