I haven't seen anyone do this, so maybe I have something original to contribute  The attached pictures should be self explanatory. I trimmed the black fender plastic to be level with the bottom of the subframe first, then put on the tail fairing and marked the cuts on the inside with a sharpie and made a template cut from a pizza box to make sure they were both equal cuts. I did the cutting with a dremel and cut-off wheel and sanded the rough edges off with sandpaper. I thought I would need to fill in the gaps to protect the wiring, R/R, etc, but I've been riding it like this for over a month even in rain with no mess, mud, or problems. I probably need to fill in the gap showing the exposed seat-lock cable just above the lock for security measures. The last four pics will show where I've trimmed the tail fairing even further back- closer to the screws under the tail light, and did the tail light "bottom window" mod with a thin piece of lexan to illuminate my higher-tucked plate; and lastly, a bonus shot of my air filter. I've taken away TONS of help and money-saving tips from these forums and wanted to give back. Thanks and happy modding!

Nice write up! A little liposuction in all the write places... ? I was considering trying to fit a gixxer tail section if one falls out of the sky.

Wow talk about a thread bump.

It was cool to me right up until the tail fairing itself was cut - not a fan of how there's now 2 giant holes for dirt and debris to get in. I do like the tail tidy though, and plan to do the same to mine. I bought some LED strips I'll just solder to the existing license plate light harness and use 3M VHB to stick it on the underside of the tail light
