    Hi every one,
I just got my first sportbike (1986 VFR750F) a couple of days ago and of course it has been crashed and now needs new forks. I have seen that the CBR600F2 is a fairly easy swap, but I happen to have access to the forks and such off a f4 (2000) and was wondering if it will be as straitforward or if it's just not feasible? If it's not, anyone got a F2 frontend and wheels for sale cheap? . Thanx

Its the F2 wheels that are an easy swap...the forks themselves do not work on the VF/VFR. They are too short compared to the stock forks.

I am not sure about the F4 forks, but i am doing the FULL f2 conversion. you can try ebay for the F2 forks, they occassionally pop up..keep in mind you can use 91-94 forks, the 94 forks are a different type of fork but can still work. The F3 forks work as well. just take the steering stem out of the VFR and put into CBR upper and lower triples. and forks should fit right in...there is a good write up on hondavfr.org.

Decent project bike there, take care of that 4-1 mid pipe! They rot out and as far as I know no one makes a replacement so you have to go back to junk stock dual pipes.
BTW, Are your forks bent? If not, I put racetech cartridge gold valves in my stock forks and have been very happy with the front of the bike.
