Fox Twin Clicker. And what looks like some Lockhart-Philips fork caps.

Bodywork that's not all cracked up, un-smashed tank, a motor that likely at least runs and mufflers that look decent-ish.

Worth $300+ in parts easy to anybody with a 500 project going.

I think this will go fast honestly. There used to be so many NorCal SF moto crazies that would take this in a heartbeat. Not sure if they all survived since you can get 20 yrs to life for pushing a millennial out of line at the coffee shop and stealing cars gets you 20hrs of community service.

Saw a CBR400RR project bike pop up on Iconic this week, thought of you. It's now been bid up to $2100. Definitely not worth that.

^^ I was thinking of that 400, but $2100 is too high for me since it will need 2k to be back in action.

I got offered a NS400R last night. I just couldn't justify the 9 to 10K. Especially when I have 3 projects staring me in the face every time I enter the shop, PLUS all the other bikes that always need shit. That's just too much money right now.

I would have to off load for that to make me and the wife feel OK about it. And I obviously find that very hard to do. She was the one that came down and told me my friend was trying to call me about a bike he knows I would want. She's pretty damn cool.

If that 400 was close to me I would buy it at $2100 though. Couple grand more, spread out over some time. I would feel just fine about a sweet $4000 RR when I was done. A few less kilometers would be nice though.

I wonder how the engine internals are with that kind of mileage? Clapped out cam chain or tensioners? Or are those gear driven?

The CB-1 uses the same basic engine. It should be Gear Driven.

When it comes to motos like 400RR, the first thing I do is go to CMSNL to get a pulse on what parts are still available, that is the determining factor as to yes or no on a buy.

Still up on CL. Someone close take it on and part it out! I could use a set of good unscratched mufflers.

NorC, I did a prelim on CMSNL for the 400, and didn't look like a whole lot was available if I am remembering correctly. I think ebay had more offerings but def aftermarket chinese.
