Picking up a 1982 CB900F next week. Needs full restoration, its complete but not running. Bringing it home for about $400 USD.

Pics to follow when she is home

Make it a Freddie Spencer resto-mod; they're cool!

No Honda line fairing, its a basic silver 82.

No idea which way ill go with it yet.

First thing will be to get it running and assess what I have.

If its totally F'd I may just part it out. otherwise once I know its a viable project ill decide how much im spending on it.

    Thanks SD, me too.

The fellow that I got the Kawasaki ZX7 off, contacted me to say he found some more bodywork for the ZX7 if I wanted it. So when I arrived to pick it up, he said he was looking to make more space in the garage and another bike needed to go (he was focusing on his 2 track bikes).

Of course with my inability to say "no", I instead said "oh, what else do you have to get rid of"....the rest is predictable

He'd bought the cb900 about 8 yrs ago intending to race it in the vintage class. However he never got around to it and it sat in the same state as he got it. So, its coming home next Monday.

Here ya go, I loaded a brief intro on the CB900 to my Youtube channel. I finally got high-speed internet and a ticket to the 21st century, courtesy of Elon Musk and StarLink.

Feel free to Like/Share/Subscribe. Im very new to this video thing and Youtube, so be kind. I am however very open to constructive criticism, One day I may be as good as Matt (Colddevil).

Welcome to Starlink. We just hooked up our system 2 weeks ago. So far so good. I actually watched them launch a Space X rocket with 50+ satallites into orbit a month ago or so from Vandenberg Space Force base. lol

Nice … good bones. If the engine is ok I would say it will clean up real nicely. Get on the CB1100f forum and the boys there will be a treasure trove of info and help. I would look for a nice 4 into 1 header ( Bassani is my favorite but good luck )

    See ya there CAT

At least the engine is moving, so that good.

The pipes that are with it are stainless steel, the baffles are out (but they are there), and only those collar flanges are missing (ill get some off ebay). the 4 sets of split collar inserts are there. Not sure how this collars and split inserts work, I always figured those collars were captive on the pipes, but I guess not.

The inserts are held on the header by the collars … I remember seeing some guys use masking tape to hold them on while tighten the collars .. sometimes they forgot to remove the tape!!!!
    The exhaust you have , is it a 4 into 2 ?
    Carbs are straight forward… easy.
Solid bike and easy to work on …

Yes, now that I got my Starlink, I put up about 20 that I had stock piled.

I have a pile more for the GSXR still to edit and upload, then the CBX

I figured you must have moved on from the hamster wheel-driven internet when I saw you had a bunch of videos uploaded--in 1080p! Looking forward to watching more of them.

Looks like you're going to have your hands full with the newest edition.
