Does anyone here know how to install one of these GI-Pro X-type gear indicators from Healtech on a 1986 VFR?

I bought it from wrs.it where it said it was compatible, but I have to admit I have no idea how to install it..

    It's one of these: https://www.healtech-electronics.com/products/gipro/gpxt

I believe it came with a universal harness.

If you know the model, or look up the one for your application, the install guides are available on healtech's site..... just scroll down in your link.

Look at the Healtech site for supplementary manuals. For an older bike you need the GPX-WSS for bikes without electronic Speedo, so you have to mount this speed sensoron your fork to get a signal for the GIpro.

Thanks, I have the GPXT and the harness: GPX-WSS. They actually come with the manual, I think I just assumed that I couldn't use those instructions for such an old bike, but I will try and see how far I can get. As a semi-new rider who doesn't get to ride that much, a gear indicator is nice to have.

That looks like a very interesting device. Please post how it works out; I'd be interested in getting one too.

Yes it's supposed to work quite well once it's installed. Installation might not be as complicated as I thought. Will report back once installed, maybe this weekend. Although time is getting sparser with an extra kid :p
