68 and still rockin' the VFeR. #060 RWB Sticker on the sidecar reads: 'When I'm too old to handle a sidecar, I'll get a sport bike'; so at 58 I did just that. Untitled.gif

My 70 year old friend just sold his 98. He put 140,000 miles on it. He said the buyer was from Virginia (he lives in NJ) and is the owner of a yellow 98. He was surprised to see how good a condition my friends VFR was in. He really rebuilt everything on the bike every 10 years or so. Never touched the engine and the bike was bone stock. 5634A5B0-C78D-4B16-A358-B2F040D256A8.jpeg

Respect! In my early days, I'd easily put between 5 and 10K/year on whatever bike I had at the time, in Ohio or Illinois, neither one of which was close to a year-round riding spot. Now in Michigan, it is worse, mostly due to my lack of commitment. Gotta work on that.

    Kudos.

Hi Matt and Welcome to the Madhouse:Welcome:.

When you get time please add a post in the Introductions part of the forum and say Hi to the rest of the folks on here. They really like photos so please don't forget to add a photo or two of your VFR. It is easy - click the "upload a file" link and follow the prompts to select and upload an image from your computer.

You may want to update your forum profile (the bit at the top) to include an approximate location town/city is ample that way it will appear beside all your posts and you may find others living nearby to ride with. Also if you need help with the VFR they may even be willing to drop by and offer advice or even pick up a wrench especially if you have a well stocked beer fridge (or a bottle of The Macallans):drink:.

    Have fun ATGATT.

Your not too old !! It's an old guy bike. Face it . Us older guys can appreciate the craftsmanship and build quality of these mechanical marvels. Most young kids today dont see that. There out buying Olins shocks for their Grom or Ruckus. I'm 65 and own 5 VFR's. My wifes cool about it. Today I told her I was thinking about a dual sport . First time she ever gave me shit about motorcycles. Guess she dont want to take care of me if I break my neck in the dirt. Guess I'll just buy another VFR. LOL

My fifty-seven-year old wife, who rides around on our '00 5th gen a pretty fair amount, wonders why this poor fellow is too old.

I am 75 and still enjoying the ride. So much that my new Michelin Pilot Power is used to the very edge -2mm. No track days, just street and highway riding.
So... why should Bud12oz be too old for his VFR?

At this point in the life ride I am 63 and started riding at 11 so it is hard to get it out of your system. There are days that I wonder if I should get back in the saddle after doing other things for too long.
My hope is I can find time this coming summer to ride the shit out of Bumble Bee.
Hopefully my work load on the farm and here will back off some
    Time will tell
