I'm heading back to this area this summer. I'm on top of Trappers peak North Cascades with the Picket range behind me. The Pickets are some of the most remote wilderness in the lower 48. I have been back in there in 2000, it is quite an ordeal to do any climbing back in there. We got out asses handed to us, I only summited 1 mountain. Had dreams of at least 5 ascents.......... the mountains will humble you quickly.

My daughter getting ready to take the "elevator" down. She is and excellent climber/hiker. My son is a better climber but hates the initial move to start rappeling.

After a long day of climbing back at high camp for sunset. The Cirque of the Towers is an amazing granite amphitheater of peaks.

Nice set of photos Gator. I bet your mind is chalk full of beautiful images from your hiking. We travel thousands of miles to see beautiful places yet so much is to be found in our own back yards.

Randy your backyard has more wonders than most. If I didn’t have the warm Atlantic Ocean in my backyard I’d live near you. I’ll just keep on visiting.

I always knew that. But that message was really driven home when Reg and I went up to northern BC, the Yukon and Alaska. The scenery was just out of this world, where and when we could see it through the rain and clouds. I would love to do that trip again, but next time it will be probably later August when there is far less mud and construction on the roads, and we get some darkness to sleep by.

I fell in love with Alaska long ago, spent a whole month there with my kids hiking and fishing. Amazing magical place. Still want to do more in the Yukon too.

I am getting excited to get back to the mountains. This photo is from one of my favorite place to hike and climb. The Wind River range in Wyoming is almost 100 miles of continuous granite spires with glaciers without a road through. Remote and beautiful. To the back of this basin to the nearest road at a remote park is about 26 miles, a big price to pay for admission. I have done this trip 3 times and climbed every peak in this basin except for 1. Stunning beauty.
