LED headlight bulbs for 5th gen VFR

Hi there!

I'm new to this site. I did search for this question but didn't find anything. I have a year 2000 VFR800. Does anyone have a brand/model of LED headlight bulbs they've had a good experience with? Thanks!

 

I have used a few sets of these in various bikes including my Gen5. No complaints. Make sure you order H4/9003.

Easiest is when nose is off and you can use 2-way tape to fasten the driver boxes to the back of the headlight....

I've used Nighteye brand H4 LEDs in a few bikes and been happy with the outcome, but there are endless brands available. Most important is to make sure any bulb you buy has the LED emitters located in the same orientation as the halogen bulb i.e. one high, one low. You also need to buy bulbs that include a low beam cut-off shroud. If you do that, you are guaranteed to get a sensible beam pattern without blinding oncoming traffic. The F2 bulbs in Rayzerman's post look perfect to me.

There are many so-called H4 LEDs that have the correct base but emitters in all kinds of weird layouts that simply will not work well as a headlight.

Thanks for the help everyone! Has anyone found a good direct-replacement for the turn signal bulbs (that don't require additional resistors to make them flash correctly, etc)?

 

You will need resistors somewhere, or a replacement flasher unit that works with LED's. There are LED bulbs with resistors built in.... suggest you contact SuperbriteLED's and see if they have that type.
