Bought my new 2017 VFR1200XD

Finally, picked up my spanking new 2017 old stock VFR1200XD.
I cannot say enough of how impressed I am with the DCT and the sound of that V4.

What a beautiful bike! And finding a old one that is brand new is always fun : )
I was on the road in company with a 1200X a couple of times over the last few days. One on my two-up ride to Lake Elsinore and another today on my ride into work. One thing I say to myself every time I see a guy on one is "Damn you guys look comfortable"!

 

Yes, I agree, the VFR1200XD is the most comfortable bike I have ever owned. I have never sat on an Africa Twin but I'd imagine it's similar with a little more engine oomph.

And, that V4 is one of the smoothest engines I have ever ridden in. It is smooth across almost the entire rev range from 0 - 85 MPH, so far that I've tried. No vibrations whatsoever came across through the pegs, seat or handle-bar. I'm impressed. I don't think an inline-4 engine can do this.
