In 2002 I bought my first brand new motorcycle... a Honda VFR800 Interceptor.... I took that bike on multiple trips to Deals Gap, New York, and all over New England... Then in 2015 I took the motorcycle trip of a lifetime and drove my then 13 year old motorcycle solo across the country... When I returned from my trek I made the quick decision that I wanted more of a touring motorcycle and traded my VFR for a brand new Yamaha FJR1300... always regretted letting the Honda go...

Fast forward to Thursday.... I was on Facebook Marketplace and I see a bike that looked like my old Honda... I start looking at the picture and am blown away when I realize it is in fact MY BIKE!!!! So many clues I knew it was mine but to be sure I asked for more pictures and was able to verify the VIN... it was mine... just popped up on my page... couldn't believe it!

Skip to Friday... and it's home where she belongs... a little worse for wear unfortunately... the last 7 years it wasn't stored completely indoors and even though it only has about 3k more miles on it then when I traded it in... it needs some love... surface rust and corrosion, a blown fork seal is what I've found so far... but it fired right up and sounded great!!! And it's home...

    Nice, 2002... the best year!
Congrats on getting it back. I keep hoping to run across my old '87 4Runner for sale but I doubt that will ever happen.

Man, I know how you feel when that lost bike comes back
In 1973 my dad bought a new Honda CB350F, when he upgrade to a new 1976 Gold Wing I bought the bike from him and it was my first street bike and I had many memories riding with dad. In 1978 I figured I needed four wheels and sold the 350F.
Fast forward to 1995 and I got the itch for my old bike, after many calls and research I found the current owner, on the west coast , and I am on the east coast, anyway he had it stored 50 miles from my home. Of course I brought the old girl home and when I saw the look on dad's face when he saw his and mine first street bike, all the calls and looking was worth it
It still sits in the garage with all new nos body parts and four into four exhaust waiting to be installed and make her new one more time

When I bought my F800GS, I kept my 2006 VFR. The GS I recently sold and bought a brand new Africa Twin. I still have the VFR. There is simply too much of my life attached to that bike or me to get rid of it. Besides, no one wants a bike with 227,000 km on the clock so keeping it was my only option.
